Bundesliga. Bayern Munich vs. Schalke 04

The new season in Bundesliga starts off on Friday, September 18, at the Allianz Arena in Munich with the match between Bayern and Schalke 04. It is impossible to imagine who can stop the Bavarian giants now. Will Schalke be able to do it?

Bayern Munich

The club had a successful season, finishing 13 points above second place Borussia Dortmund and winning the Bundesliga title. In the Champions League Bayern reached the final, en route beating Barcelona 8-2 in the quarter-finals. That match will go down in history for sure. The Bavarians rightfully claimed the Champions League trophy.

Now, when the celebration is over, it is time to start a new campaign. During transfer window Hans-Dieter Flick didn’t make any big purchases. Bayern kept hold of key players, with Leroy Sane joining the club for €45mln. The Reds also signed Alexander Nubel, Schalke’s goalkeeper, and Tanguy Kouassi Nianzou, PSG defender, as free agents. Let’s hope the newcomers will solidify the team even more.

Schalke 04

Once the Miners were the real force of the European football and fought for the top spots in the Bundesliga. Now the club is going through crisis. In 2019, David Wagner, a former Schalke’s player, was appointed as manager of the club. The Miners finished the season in the 12th place. Hopefully, amends were made in the summertime in order to continue in the top flight.

Schalke didn’t spend much in the transfer window. They acquired Vedad Ibisevic from Hertha and several young players from the youth academy of Schalke. Perhaps, we will see on Friday if these additions were needed.

Frankly speaking, the victory of Schalke at Bayern’s stadium seems surreal. Consequently, the odds on Schalke’s victory are 19. However, let’s not forget that miracles can happen in football.

The odds on a draw – 10.

Obviously, the Bavarians are the favourites of the upcoming game, given the odds of 1.12.

We are truly happy that football is coming back. Good luck to both clubs! Big wins to the bettors!
