Chelsea vs. Tottenham Hotspur

On February 22, we expect another spectacular top-team clash in the Premier League, when Chelsea play host to Tottenham Hotspur for the match of the 27th round. So, what is interesting about this match and what outcome you may count on? Let’s have a look.

The Blues are in the 4th place of the Premier League. So far, they have collected 41 points, scored 43 goals and conceded 36. Honestly, the statistics does not justify the budget spent. Besides, the team doesn’t show expected stability.
On February 17, Chelsea lost to Manchester United (0:2). Such an outcome was quite disappointing for the head coach of Chelsea, Frank Lampard, who at the same time tries to deal with the problems inside the team and with excessive attention from mass media. Lampard’s main purpose is to provide for Chelsea the participation in the Champions League. And although the Blues are still on the fourth spot, the gap between them and their chasers slowly decreases. Let’s look at Chelsea’s recent matches. On February 1, the Aristocrats played a draw with Leicester (2:2). Prior to that, on January 25, they defeated Hull City in the FA Cup (1:2). So, we cannot say that the team plays badly. However, their game is far from being consistent. Will Chelsea be able to oppose the motivated Spurs?
N’Golo Kante and Marco van Ginkel will miss this match, due to injuries.

Tottenham Hotspur
The Spurs are in the 5th position in the Premier League table, which means they are qualified for Europa League, but only one step away from the top four, who make it to Champions League. Only one point separates the Spurs from Chelsea, closing the top four.
Tottenham have 40 points, 43 scored and 34 conceded goals. This month the team hasn’t lost any single match on the land of Britain. Theirs are the victories over Manchester City (2:0), Southampton (3:2) and Aston Villa (2:3). However, the match of 1/8 finals of the UEFA Champions League was not so successful. The Spurs suffered a 1-0 defeat with RB Leipzig.
Tottenham head coach is concerned about the growing injury list. Among the players, who will not take part in the upcoming clash, are Harry Cane, Son Heung-min, who scored in the 5 matches in a row. The absence of Sissoko and Foyth is also very upsetting.

We would like to believe that even without main forwards Tottenham will be able to move Chelsea from the 4th place, but let’s be realistic. The Blues are going to try hard to justify themselves after recent loss to Manchester. So, we bet Chelsea will win with a great advantage. Odds of 2.27 for handicap 1(-1).
