La Liga. Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona

On November 21, Los Colchoneros from Madrid will welcome the Catalan giants of Barcelona. The match promises to be fascinating. As usual, let’s look at the teams’ stats and news.

For the past 9 years Diego Simeone’s side have been showing unity and stability. In the current season Atletico confidently maintain their reputation, which is extremely important because even such top clubs as Barcelona or Real Madrid are troubled by pandemic and internal crises.

7 matches were played in La Liga. Atletico lost points twice, by finishing their games against Huesca and Villarreal in a scoreless draw. These results are wonderful, considering that many other clubs have already played 9 games, while Simeone’s men still have two matches in stock.

As for the Champions League, Atletico’s achievements are more modest. They’ve collected only 4 points in three matches, including a 4-0 loss to Bayern Munich and a 1-1 draw with Lokomotiv Moscow. All this makes Atletico’s position in the group unstable. Will the team be able to advance to the playoff stage of the Champions League?

During the past 6 months Ronald Koeman has been picking up the pieces of struggling Barca. Legendary Lionel Messi doesn’t want to be in the club, which brought him fame. So, he will continue to play for Barcelona for the final year of his contract. Messi’s former clubmates went their separate ways. Suarez left for Atletico. He may even have a chance to face his former club. Vidal went to Inter, Rakitic joined Sevilla, while Arthur left for Juventus.

Barca made several big purchases in the summer. However, the results still leave much to be desired. In La Liga, Koeman’s men celebrated victory only 3 times in 7 matches. They lost two games and drew 2 games as well. Currently Barcelona have 11 points and sit in the 8th place in the standings.

In the Champions League, the Catalan giants are doing much better. They won all 3 games, having collected 9 points. However, it is hard to be impressed by Barca’s play. For example, they could barely escape the draw in the match with Dynamo Kyiv, which main squad had tested positive for COVID-19. Well, victory is victory, right?

According to bookmakers, a draw seems highly unlikely. That’s why the odds on a draw are 3.46.

Atletico will be playing at home. However, despite their stable results, the odds of 2.995 show that they are not the favourites of the upcoming match.

On the triumph of Barcelona you can wager for the odds of 2.46.

There is always a double chance bet on the victory of any team for the odds of 1.344.

The little difference between odds indicates that it is hard to guess the winner. We wish good luck to the opponents. May your bets win!
