UFC. Reyes vs. Prochazka

UFC Vegas 25 is set to take place on May 2 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas with the clash between Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka as the main event of the night.

Dominick “The Devastator” Reyes

Currently the American fighter is #3 in the UFC light heavyweight rankings. His professional MMA career started 6 years ago. Since then, Reyes has had 14 fights, winning 12 and losing 2. His knockout percentage is 58%.

Dominick is left-handed, which may become a problem for any right-handed opponent. Although he was an athlete from a young age, Reyes wasn’t always into MMA. He is a former football player and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt holder.

The last year was pivotal for Dominick. After a 12-bout winning streak, he challenged Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight championship, losing the majority decision. His second attempt to win the belt was in September 2020. After Jones vacated the title, Reyes and Jan Blachowicz met at UFC 253 only for Reyes to be knocked out in the second round.

Jiri “Denisa” Prochazka

The 5th-ranked in the UFC light heavyweight rankings Prochazka has been among the MMA professionals for 9 years. The inaugural and former Rizin FF Light Heavyweight champion, he signed a contract with Ultimate Fighting Championship only a year ago, in January 2020. The Czech made his UFC debut against Volkan Oezdemir in July 2020 at UFC 251. Jiri defeated his opponent via a second-round knockout and captured the 5th spot on the list of the Ten Best Newcomers.

All in all, Prochazka stepped into the ring 31 times during his professional career, winning 27 fights.

Speaking about the upcoming clash, Jiri is a serious opponent and his titles clearly state his ambitious goals. Besides, the Czech is 3 years younger and has a 7 cm reach advantage over Reyes.
