US Open Women’s Final Prediction

37-year old American tennis legend Serena Williams has a chance to write her name down in the history books if she wins a record-equaling 24th Major in her career. The six-time US Open champion meets a young and exuberant Bianca Andreescu from Canada.

In semifinal round Serena dismantled Elina Svitolina from Ukraine. Williams dominated the whole game and won in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 in about one hour and ten minutes. Thus, she secured herself a place in the final which is going to be her number ten in New York.

In the other semifinal of the night, 19-year old Andreescu had to work hard for more than two hours to overcome Belinda Bencic. Bianca won the first set on tie-break and made a comeback after trailing 2-5 in the second set which she won 7-5. Thus, she advanced to her first Grand Slam final.

Just a month ago Williams and Andreescu faced each other in Toronto at Canadian Open. Unfortunately, Serena had to retire after only four games due to back spasms, thereby handing the title to the young Canadian. So, the upcoming final is a rematch of their final in Toronto.

This year in her journey towards the title Bianca has shown tremendous character, grit and resilience to work through tough opponents. On the other hand, Williams had a rather smooth way to the finals. Except, probably, her match against Caty McNally, where she lost the first set.

Prediction
This is going to be a clash between tennis legend and a rising superstar. Andreescu had an amazing winning streak this year even against top tennis players. Serena, on the contrary, was defeated in her recent Grand Slam finals, although she looks confident and prepared. Serena Williams is ready to beat Andreescu and get her 24th Major.
